Sidharth Sethi | Round Table Discussion on Courts, Counsel and Institutions: Who Shapes the Ecosystem of ADR

Our Partner, Sidharth Sethi, was invited as a speaker at a Round Table Discussion on “Courts, Counsel and Institutions: Who Shapes the Ecosystem of ADR”, held at the Delhi High Court.

The event was chaired by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anish Dayal, Judge, Delhi High Court and co-chaired by Mr. Anil Xavier, Senior Advocate.

The discussion focussed on the respective strengths of arbitration and mediation, as methods of dispute resolution, and the challenges encountered by stake holders in both the mechanisms. An important theme which ran through the entire discussion was whether mediation should become the first language of commercial decision making; and the reforms required to turn it into a real-value initiative – instead of a superficial compliance task. The other esteemed speakers included:

  • Mr. Jayant Mehta, Senior Advocate;
  • Ms. Diya Kapur, Senior Advocate;
  • Ms. Rashmi Kathpalia, Advocate & Arbitrator;
  • Mr. Ajay Bhargava, Partner, Khaitan & Co.;
