Our Partner, Fatema Dalal Kachwalla, participated in a broadcast on NDTV Profit titled “After Tukaram Mundhe’s FDA Crackdown: Know Your Food Rights | Expert Answers Key Consumer Questions”
Maharashtra’s food safety crackdown has led to action against restaurants, railway canteens and quick-commerce facilities over alleged hygiene, storage and adulteration violations, including fake paneer and unsafe edible oil. JSA Partner Fatema Kachwala highlighted that India has extensive food safety regulations, but enforcement and public awareness remain key gaps. Consumers can report violations to food safety authorities or consumer forums, while food businesses—including street vendors and delivery platforms—must meet prescribed hygiene and storage standards.
